Choose what you want to read
We are currently shipping our speculative folk-horror story, The Keeper. We plan to launch a second story six months into its run.

Choose how it arrives
You can pay month to month, or take a six-month membership where the whole story is paid for up front. The gift option lets you nominate a recipient, and we mail the story to them every month. Postage is calculated at the checkout.

Tell us where the post should go
At the checkout you will be asked for a postal address and an email. The email is only used to confirm an envelope is on its way, and to keep you informed of news and promotions if you choose to opt in.

Watch the letterbox
Installments go out in the second week of the month. Inside each envelope is a letter providing your next installment of the story, one or two story objects, a short note from the club, and a charm.

Read along
Brew a cup of tea or pour yourself a glass of wine and lose yourself in the story. The series ends when the sixth envelope arrives. After six months of our inaugural story, The Keeper, another story will be available to purchase on this website.
What is in the envelope
The Keeper
- An installment of the story, in letter form, printed on heavy paper and folded by hand
- A story object, such as a postcard, a sketch or a diary entry
- A sticker of the author’s artwork
- A short note from the club about that month’s installment
- A nautical-themed charm for crafting
Why slow
The Slowburn Story Club aims to recapture the simple joy of waiting. In our increasingly automated world, we are all too used to instant gratification.
The club offers its members something to look forward to in the mail.
